G'day g'day! I hope you've had a wonderful Christmas season. Ours has been full and busy. Here's a quick re-cap/update of what's going on with our family:
Outside schoolwork, Tanya and Devyn are busy with character performance work, dance, Christian taikwondo, and helping out at church. Jaz's marriage has brought her to Arkansas and a major adjustment for all of us.
It has been a lot of work getting up and going again since the computer crashed, but I'm grateful that the Abbey has bought a computer I can use, and others also gave enough to cover some major upgrades to recording equipment. I am SO grateful and encouraged. 2018 should be off to a good start.
We had a major outreach effort over the Advent season, which took a lot of hours and was well worth it. I expect things will settle down now that our Christmas-push is over.
Work with the Abbey looks like a good dove-tail with my goal of helping struggling churches with their music.
The goal is to record each song we use in corporate worship, and run off parts individually so singers can learn their part by listening. It's the way I've been organizing things at the Abbey, and the next step is to clean up those recordings and add some more tracks to them, then release them for public use.
Mechanical licenses will be an added challenge and expense, and we need help to make it happen! If you'd like to help make this possible, donations can be made here (it is secure). Other ongoing expenses still need to be covered and we are so grateful for your support!
I hope the joy of Christmas and what God has done for us has been especially real for you this season. I love this time of year, and contemplating the awesome thing God has done.
May you know the Kingship and friendship of Jesus, and walk in His peace as we head into the new year.
